Wilco @ Northrop

Click To Play
Last Wednesday, Wilco ripped the City of Minneapolis a new one at the U of M Northop Auditorium. Contrary to lead singer Jeff Tweedy's position on mellow music, this crude mpeg video captures some of the show's mid-tempo arrangements easy to sing-a-long to. The show was superb, however, the crowd and venue paled in comparison to their Duluth show this past September. Video will never serve this band justice. BTW, Nels Cline was an absolute madman on lead guitar.

Guru
Last Thursday, we had the chance to see legendary hip hop emcee Guru (Gifts Unlimited, Rhymes Universal) at First Avenue in Minneapolis. He was there pushing the hell out of his latest Jazzmatazz record. Don't get me wrong, his rhymes are dope, but the show was more of a commercial for his producer than an artistic expression of self. At least he spit a rhyme for me after the show, that was nice of him. Thanks to KVSC for the tix.

Ghost Riders
Finally, I have a reason to bring back my rock 'n roll Pompadour. Ghost Riders is another exceptional project from the gifted Ploof family. This is a promotional video I made for them.
In their own words:
If you're in the Minneapolis area, go check 'em out.
