Wilco @ Northrop

Click To Play

Last Wednesday, Wilco ripped the City of Minneapolis a new one at the U of M Northop Auditorium. Contrary to lead singer Jeff Tweedy's position on mellow music, this crude mpeg video captures some of the show's mid-tempo arrangements easy to sing-a-long to. The show was superb, however, the crowd and venue paled in comparison to their Duluth show this past September. Video will never serve this band justice. BTW, Nels Cline was an absolute madman on lead guitar.

An accidental occurrence of images. Often, the things I enjoy the most come out of nowhere from completely random happenings. Music by Tortoise.

Guru

Last Thursday, we had the chance to see legendary hip hop emcee Guru (Gifts Unlimited, Rhymes Universal) at First Avenue in Minneapolis. He was there pushing the hell out of his latest Jazzmatazz record. Don't get me wrong, his rhymes are dope, but the show was more of a commercial for his producer than an artistic expression of self. At least he spit a rhyme for me after the show, that was nice of him. Thanks to KVSC for the tix.

Ghost Riders

Finally, I have a reason to bring back my rock 'n roll Pompadour. Ghost Riders is another exceptional project from the gifted Ploof family. This is a promotional video I made for them.

In their own words:

"For the first time, a definitive Rock-A-Billy tribute to country music's Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams Sr. Ghost Riders delivers an explosion of excitement and raw energy, coupled with the timeless music of three country music pioneering legends."

If you're in the Minneapolis area, go check 'em out.

Robots are Very Dangerous

Quicktime

If there's one thing science fiction has taught me, it's that robots will one day rule over all humanity. I can sleep soundly at night because Jimcdr, my brother-in-law and future robot insurasnce agent, will owe my a favor in my later years. Please consider a free consultation today for robot related injuries and other techy inquiries. Please contact before it's too late. Actually, it really doesn't make any sense. I made it for the now defunct jimcdr dot com around this time last year. Music by Afrika Bambaataa.

Carp Caviar

{P.B. & Mayo}

{Tap That Can!}
The experiment begins. It's officially Videoblogging Week 2007, and it seems overly appropriate (and overdue) to start my own vlog. Two videos mashed for Bottom Union's Carp Caviar "The Second Harvest" Promo Month Game Activity. I realize it has long passed, but I needed something for my first post. Music by Boom Bip.
